What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of RPATL Church, based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry are rooted in, and flow from, these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing God who exists in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all that exists—both visible and invisible—and is worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchanging and remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Scripture References: Deuteronomy 6:4, Genesis 1:1, John 1:1–3, 2, Corinthians 13:14, Hebrews 13:8

Revelation

God has revealed Himself to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God. He has also revealed Himself through the Holy Scriptures, and through creation itself.
Scripture References: Colossians 1:15, John 1:14–18, 2 Timothy 3:16–17, Psalm 19:1

Mankind

Humanity—both male and female—was created in the image of God for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and entrusted as caretakers of God’s creation.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:26–27, Genesis 2:15, Isaiah 43:7

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose disobedience, sin entered the world. Their relationship with God was broken, and all of creation has been fractured ever since. Humanity is now born into sin and is in need of redemption.
Scripture References: Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, Isaiah 59:2

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile humanity back to God. He lived a sinless life and willingly died on the cross, paying the penalty for our sin. God raised Him from the dead, and now, by grace, offers eternal life as a free gift to all who accept Christ by faith as Lord and Savior. Salvation is found in Christ alone.
Scripture References: John 3:16, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8–9, Romans 10:9–10, Acts 4:12

The Church

The Church is the visible body of Christ, called and sent into the world to glorify God, make disciples, and proclaim the message of Jesus Christ.
Scripture References: Matthew 28:19–20, Acts 2:42–47, Ephesians 1:22–23, 1 Corinthians 12:27

Resurrection

Jesus Christ will return one day to judge the living and the dead and to establish the fullness of God’s Kingdom on earth. Believers will be resurrected to eternal life in His presence.
Scripture References: John 5:28–29, 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, 1 Corinthians 15:51–53, Revelation 21:1–4
